Best Irons

Ironing for me belongs on top of the most arduous tasks around the house. It is something my mother always did for me until I moved out to live on my own in which case I would leave all my pressing on the to-do list forever.

Now with a family of four of my own and a ton of pressing every week, it doesn’t seem too bad thanks largely to an array of modern irons available to us. Some of the best irons on the market can actually cut your ironing time in half. There are many different types of irons on the market today like steam irons, steam iron generators and cordless irons offering many different features. With so many models on the market, it canbe daunting task trying to choose the best irons for your ironing cupboard.

Always pick up and hold the iron in your hand before you buy it to see if it is not too heavy, remember this iron will have water added to it and you could be ironing for hours with it. Make sure you can set the controls for different fabrics and be able turn off the steam when you want.

Having the right iron can make ironing almost bearable.

Lets look at some of these types of irons.

Cordless Irons – these look like a normal steam iron but without a cord. They maybe have the advantage of easy movement without the cord but that’s about all the cordless iron has to offer.

Steam Irons - these steam irons have made great leaps with new innovations offering great self cleaning, auto shutoff and many more features. These irons release steam in small amounts on fabric to press out the creases.

Steam ironing generators - these irons use a separate base that houses the boiler which generates steam. When you press the steam button on the iron it release constant high pressured steam onto the fabric thus ironing it in half the time it takes a normal steam iron. These can be great for vertical ironing, ideal for curtains and hanging clothes. These are some of the best irons around.

Steam presses - these are a miniature version of the dry cleaners presses. They are great for ironing coats, trousers and shirts. With over 100 pounds of pressure and a gentle release of steam, they can really make your clothes look as if they’ve been pressed by your dry cleaners. They also require the least amount of effort of any irons.
